Just a quick thanks for Saturday - the band were great - really rocked the
joint. We were so pleased you agreed to do the gig - it rounded the day
off perfectly.

Newfield Inn, Co. Durham, 31st May

Hi All

We all know how difficult it is to get the place "jumping" or "rocking" as well as getting the place "choca-block"!
Saturday night was just that for us in the Newfield Inn, thanks to a great gig by "Jo James Band"!
We had them on for the 4th time, Saturday night  - a different mixed set list (which was noticed) and a great performance by them all. Jo really is a "rock chic".
They have "got it together" I think is the saying and they just get better each time we see them.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for a great night!

The Daisy Hill, Sacriston, Co Durham, 4th January, 2008

I first met Jo and Karen, of the band, one night at The Daisy when Little Stevie was playing. After this I went out to a club in Chester where they were rehearsing, to listen to them. I booked them…

…Karen with the snazzy braces plays keyboard and supported Jo with some of the vocals. The rest of the band were - guitarist Brian, rhythm (support vox) bassist and drummer. The first set included a mix of old and new songs of a more gentle persuasion followed by a rockier 2nd set which got the punters dancing. The Katie Tunstall song and Snow Patrol songs stood out for me. Burning Love was played very well and the popular Ruby went down well. The guy on rhythm guitar filled in with some vocals and even sang one on his own, forgot what it was but I recall it was a 60s song. The Stones (Brown Sugar) was the penultimate song and by popular demand, Sweet Child of Mine wrapped the evening up. The crowd was an appreciable size and was swelled by Jo’s family and friends who presumably live nearby. Some of the guys from the bar were also in and were very impressed, shaking (and kissing) Jo’s hand after the gig. Please see UTube for Jo James Band. I also videoed Brown Sugar which I will upload to UT later. Jo has a good stage presence, very much looks the part, and this was a cracking night at the Daisy by Jo and her band.

Easy Street, Chester le Street, 1st November 2007

We're  just opening Easy Street up as a Brand New Venue in the Town and the place has been completely refurbished. I am trying to encourage Live Music here as we have a hungry clientel for good quality Rock & Pop. The facilities in Easy Street are second to none and the acoustics are just the business for good solid rock and I Should Know!

The Jo James Band was just what the doctor ordered and I was especially impressed by the dynamics in their numbers.  The place was jumping inside (and out - the smokers) as Jo made the classic rock songs her own. It was great to hear my old mate Brian on lead guitar again going through those riffs  like silk.

The combination of the harmonies by the two females and one male was also an excellent blend that especially filled the choruses of the songs. A great band with an excellent selection of numbers to suit everyone in the audience and it did some, Thanks Jo Come Back Soon!

Steels Social Club, Sunderland, 29th September 2007
Caught The Jo James Band quite by accident one Sunday night at Luma in Sunderland earlier this year. We had never heard of them before but were very impressed with what we saw and heard, so much so that I decided to  book them for my local social club.I decided that a booking for a Saturday would probably be the best night for the type of material we heard them do at Luma but after talking to Jo. it became apparent that they can alter their set list to suit most type's of audience.

We decided to go ahead with the Saturday however and can honestly say they were brilliant, they did a fairly rocky set with numbers from Gun's and Roses, Journey,  ZZ Top and a great cover of Honky Tonk Woman, together with some Snow Patrol and KT Tunstall.

Jo has got a great voice and she is backed by some fine musicians who all provide superb backing vocals

They went down really well with the regulars and the feedback was excellant, which is always good to hear from my point of view.

Get along to see them if they are in your area, or better still come along and see them when they return to
Steels Club in Sunderland on 16th February next year, you won't be disappointed.

Cheers Arthur, Steels Social Club, Sunderland.

August Bank Holiday Weekend , 2007                .

Having decided, at short notice, to put a band on Saturday 25th August - Bank Holiday weekend to coincide with our "Buskers Music Festival" for the Charity CRY I was advised by a Friend to try the Jo James Band!

My brain did summersaults - a 6 piece band - where were we going to put them inside our venue (a "smallish" village pub after having the days events outside), would they be to loud was my biggest concern, would the regulars know and enjoy their Rock music, would they go down well after a "buskers" festival, AND would the band enjoy the pub?????????????
I was in a dilemma!!

The band arrived on the night - In they came with their gear looking as nervous as I was, which was another good sign!
What a show, the sound was great, the music fantastic and from the 1st track they were a hit and had the audience up on their seats and bouncing around!

Jo is a REAL "Rock Chick" and the band really enjoyed what they were doing, BUT what was really awesome was
that Jo was not the only focal point, the whole band were together as a band and enjoyed each other as well as their captivated audience, both young and oldies!

This band is sensational and I have to say, no offence meant, that they are the best we have had!!
Every week I'm asked when the band are back to play - Get ready you lot - we have confirmed
Saturday, 12th January 2008

I for one can't wait to see this band again!  The
very best of luck to the band for the future - you are fab!

Wedding at Langley Castle, 17th March 2006

We booked Jo’s band for our daughter’s wedding at Langley Castle. Jo was so helpful in helping us to organise a programme for the evening including an acoustic set and some ceilidh dancing (called to a CD). What a night we had! We were treated to a fizzing champagne cocktail of fantastic rock ‘n roll which had the dance floor jam-packed from start to finish. So many of our friends said it was one of the best bands they had heard and lots of my male friends fell madly in love with Jo. Truly the icing on the wedding cake!
